Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: In It for the Long Haul

We sat down with Steve Allen to learn more about the national context around living wages, the challenges they present, and how employers right here in the Triangle are tackling the issue.

Rob Handfield and fellow researchers from NC State have conducted an in-depth study to establish all of the actions apparel factories will need to take in order to come into compliance with international labor standards.

A new study co-authored by Nathan Goldman, assistant professor of accounting, finds the expert skills developed by auditing offices that specialize in working with specific industries are actually applicable across industry sectors, improving the quality of their audits regardless of the industry sector they are auditing.

"An understanding of risk management is no longer a specialty for niche careers, as leaders throughout a company are now expected to have some skill in managing risks," said Mark Beasley, professor of accounting.

“Some people call this the golden hour of networking. Because we’ve become socially isolated and haven’t had opportunities to meet face to face…people really want to connect with others. They’re finding ways to do it creatively,” says Brad Kirkman, professor or leadership.
