Important Message from Asst. Dean Tedd Szeto

Tedd Szeto 4

Hello, Poole students!

The first day of class is right around the corner, and we are excited to welcome you back. In the coming weeks, there are a few items you may need to attend to. Please read through these carefully and see if they apply. Also, look out for the first issue of the 2022-23 student newsletter, coming to your inboxes on August 15.

Fall 2022 Schedule and Waitlists
We have essentially opened up all the seats we will be offering this Fall.  If you are still on a waitlist and aren’t near the top, it is unlikely that you will get into that section.  Utilize your degree audit to determine another course to enroll in for the fall.

New Section of ST 350

The Statistics Department has opened a new section of ST 350 that meets M/W 3-4:15 p.m. Add that to your schedule if it works for you.

New Section of Business Law (MIE 305)

A new online section (602) of MIE 305 will be opening this week.

Career Prep
Get ready for fall recruiting and make plans to participate in Career Weeks, September 12-30. Use our student resources to update your resume, LinkedIn profile and schedule a meeting with a career coach to review.

See you in a few weeks!

Tedd Szeto, Ph.D.

Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs

  • Sophomores & Juniors: Consider enrolling in section 002 of M 120 (Professional Development and Career Planning). This 1-credit course will help you immensely as you pursue jobs and internships.
  • Business Law: A new online section (602) of MIE 305 will be opening this week.
  • Accounting Majors: Consider enrolling in ACC 459 (Analytics in Accounting & Finance). It is available and will count as a concentration elective or as a major degree requirement (depending on your curriculum).
  • Marketing Concentration: The Marketing and Sales Practicum (previously BUS 495) is now BUS 463 and will count as a Marketing concentration elective for any curriculum, even if it doesn’t show up on your degree audit.
  • Human Resources Concentration: MIE 437 (Human Resources Analytics) is a key course for HR students and will count either as a HR concentration elective or as a degree requirement for HR students. Definitely one you should take if you are going into HR.
